Why I Cannot Follow Users on Instagram

Why I cannot follow users on Instagram

Whether we want to admit it or not, Instagram is a game of numbers. Since photos are the centerpiece of this hugely popular social media platform, the numbers are matter too. How many followers you have is important, but so is the number of people you follow. So it’s not surprising that this questions are asking: How many people can I follow on Instagram? Why I cannot follow users on Instagram?

Beware of the Instagram policy

But Instagram has set certain limits on the number of followers and followings to limit accounts that use collisions or extremely aggressive tactics. If you accidentally violate these restrictions, your account may temporarily block.

Instagram has set its limits on followers and followings

Instagram regularly sets users restrictions for follow. Initially, early users suggested that the limits to follow and stop should limit to 140 per hour.

Instagram’s boundaries still vary between accounts, and some of them have day-to-day restrictions on daily actions. Most accounts can take and stop 350 to 500 follow-up actions to track next and similar actions per day. However, with larger accounts (over 100,000 followers) and more reliable, the limitations are much greater.

There are reports that Instagram is working on another major change in the boundary to follow. So for this limit we explain why you cannot follow users on Instagram.

Stop following fast on Instagram

In general, chances are you will get a blocking warning if your Instagram users follow or unfollow very fast. For most cases, requests will keep you from following for a day or two. In some cases, however, your account can be blocked for much longer. As mentioned earlier, the exclusion periods are quite random.

How much can you follow on Instagram?

As I said a few times before, yes, there is a limit to the number of people you can follow on Instagram. Instagram sets this limit to “reduce spam” and sets the limit of 7,500 people you can follow. If limit exceeded, you cannot follow users on Instagram.

This can be a great opportunity to pick people to stop following more new people with newer and more interesting content.

There is also a time limit to follow users on Instagram

In addition to limiting 7500 followers, Instagram also limits the number of people you can follow in a certain period of time. Most users report that on Instagram you can only follow 160 people per hour, but some report up to 60.

Unfortunately, there is nothing you can do to get around this limit, no matter how closely you look. As this policy was introduced by Instagram a long time ago and is intended to prevent aggressive account registration. This is unfortunate for most new Instagram users who prefer to follow a lot of accounts to discover interesting content, photos, stories and discussions and take back the number of users following it. But Instagram was adamant about its willingness to cut back on fake / spam / bot accounts. While this is a very valid reason to enforce the limit, the policy does not take into account that the majority of users are still following the rules and the restriction could adversely affect them.
